Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 June 2026
Utilytic ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at utilytic.com. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
1. Free tools — your files never leave your device
All free utility tools (audio, video, PDF, image) run entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and the Web APIs. No file you process with a free tool is ever uploaded to our servers. Processing happens locally on your device; we have no access to the content of your files.
2. Data we collect
a. Anonymous visitors
When you use Utilytic without an account we store a random identifier
(ownerId) in your browser's localStorage. This ID is used solely to
associate credit purchases with your browser session. We also store a daily usage counter
(pdfy_meter) in localStorage to track how many times you have used
the tools today. Neither value is sent to our servers unless you make a purchase.
b. Registered users
If you create an account we collect your first name, last name, and email address. We store this in our database (hosted on Neon / PostgreSQL) along with a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
c. Payments
Payments are processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). We never see or store your card number or payment details. When a purchase completes, Paddle sends us a webhook containing the transaction amount and your email address so we can credit your account. Paddle's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
d. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use Utilytic (page views, referral sources, feature usage). GA4 uses cookies and may process your IP address. You can opt out via your browser's cookie controls or a GA4 opt-out extension.
e. Advertising
Free tool pages display ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. Ads are never shown on account, pricing, or payment pages.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and improve the service
- To credit your account after a purchase
- To send transactional emails (receipt, password reset) — no marketing emails without explicit consent
- To detect and prevent abuse
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party processors named above (Paddle, Google Analytics, Google AdSense) and only to the extent necessary to deliver the service.
5. Data retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active. Delete your account to remove it.
- localStorage values — stored in your browser only; cleared when you clear your browser data.
- Premium AI uploads (when available) — automatically deleted within 60 minutes of processing, with a 24-hour hard backstop enforced by our storage provider.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights contact us at privacy@utilytic.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use localStorage (not cookies) for session state. Third-party services
(AdSense, GA4) set their own cookies, which you can block or delete via your browser settings.
8. Children
Utilytic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
