Frequently asked questions
- Is my PDF uploaded?
- No. The file is opened and re-saved entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to any server.
- What types of protection can be removed?
- Open/user passwords (required to view the file) and owner/permission restrictions (prevent copying, printing or editing). You need the correct password to remove an open password.
- What if I do not know the password?
- This tool can only remove protection when you already know the password. It does not crack or guess passwords.
- What encryption algorithms are supported?
- RC4-40, RC4-128, AES-128 and AES-256 — the four standard PDF encryption methods. Very old or non-standard PDFs may not be supported.
