100% in your browser No watermark No sign-up

How it works

  1. Drop or select a video — it stays on your device the whole time.
  2. Enter the timestamp (MM:SS) for the frame you want to capture.
  3. Click Extract thumbnail — ffmpeg.wasm grabs the frame in your browser.
  4. Your thumbnail downloads automatically as a JPG, and a preview appears inline.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The frame is extracted entirely inside your browser using ffmpeg.wasm. Your video file never leaves your device.
What formats are supported?
Any video format your browser can pass to ffmpeg.wasm — MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV and AVI all work well.
What if the timestamp is beyond the video length?
ffmpeg will attempt to seek to that position and may output a blank or the last frame. Enter a time within the video duration for best results.
What format is the output thumbnail?
The thumbnail is saved as a high-quality JPEG (quality setting 2, which is near-lossless on the ffmpeg scale).
Is it free?
Yes — extracting video thumbnails is completely free with no sign-up, watermarks or limits.
